Located in a small corner of the Netherlands, we are a one woman owned business with a huge passion for textiles & history.

My kimono journey started in 2011, I was wearing kimono for the first time and being fully self-taught with no known teacher in my country. I connected with lots of knowledgeable people all across the globe and I was exposed to many ways of coordinating kimono outfits. Seeing firsthand how much impact a small change of colour could have on the overall outfit, I found myself getting more and more joy with trying new colour combinations. With a limited budget as a student at the time, it meant I focussed on smaller accessories like obiage & obijime to add a something new.
Now, almost a decade and a half later, I am taking the next step and have created this space for fellow international kimono wearers as well as fashion lovers to buy their obijime. Whether you are first starting out or have more than a handful of kimono-wearing years under your obi(belt).

My goals for this web shop are to provide a place where you can not only buy obijime to wear with your kimono but also learn at the same time. From the different shapes, seasonality, formality to how to tie them. So you are able to both buy the obijime but also know everything that you need in order to wear it with confidence.
